il ritratto di una giovane donna ( noto anche come la fornarina ) è un dipinto ad olio su legno del maestro raffaello italiano del rinascimento , fatto tra 1518 e 1520 . La donna è tradizionalmente identificata con la fornarina ( fornaia ) margherita luti , Raphael's Padrona romana , anche se questo è stato messo in discussione . La donna è raffigurata con un cappello in stile orientale e seno nudo . Sta facendo il gesto di coprirsi il seno sinistro , o per girarlo con la sua mano , ed è illuminato da una forte luce artificiale proveniente dall'esterno . Il braccio sinistro ha una fascia stretta con la firma dell'artista , RAPHAEL URBINAS . È stato suggerito che la mano destra sul seno sinistro rivela un tumore al seno canceroso mascherato da una classica posa d'amore . ora nella collezione della galleria nazionale d'Arte antica a palazzo barberini , Roma .
